Notes and history, per revision

Two things landed together that answer the same question: what happened to this thing?

Notes are rich text attached to a specific revision, editable only while you have the object checked out. That constraint is deliberate. Notes anyone can edit at any time stop being trustworthy.

History is a timeline of business events on the revision, with icons and colours by event type. Not an audit log of database writes, but a record of what a person would care about: checked out, released, superseded, approved.
